I purchased my Quest 2 a short while ago, about a month and a half at most. I've had a Facebook account for years, but within the last 3 years I had kept it mostly deactivated. I wasn't keen on the idea of merging accounts (I've had a Rift for awhile, therefore I've had an Oculus account), but I did it so I could use my Quest 2. Within about 2 weeks I received a notice from Facebook that a post from 2017 had been flagged (note that I couldn't actually see what it was that I had posted, the picture was grayed out on every device I checked from). I immediately requested a review to prevent my account from being disabled. That was within 2 days of being notified. The 30 day mark passed today with no word back from Facebook or Oculus and I am now locked out of my Quest 2, and have lost access to all my purchased games. It appears I have no recourse to get my years old account back, and I now have a $299 paperweight.
This is me complaining, but also a cautionary tale to anyone considering using any Oculus products. Your past may come back to haunt you. Even if it didn't violate any TOS at the time, it may now. It's ridiculous they force you to have a Facebook account at all. You technically can't even create a second account just for the Oculus because that's a TOS violation. Just be aware that Facebook has become extremely restrictive with their TOS and you may have unwittingly violated it at some point, costing you the use of your headset.
