Greetings fellow VR enthusiasts! I've been using the quest 2 mainly for PCVR through the link cable for slightly over half a year, playing mostly vrchat, and I'm now interested in full body tracking. I ended up pledging for 3 tundra trackers which will arrive in September, meaning I will need to get two base stations to go with it. The problem is I live in a relatively poor country in Asia, where wages are very low, and these things don't come cheap, so I want to have the best bang for my buck. I have already spent roughly ~420 for the quest 2 including the mods for it. With how expensive base stations are right now, I was thinking of just buying the whole index kit instead, but having to work 2 full months for it.
Here are the options for the country I'm currently living in:
Option 1: Buy two second hand base stations 1.0 locally (~$270, effectively ~$690 with Q2)
Option 2: Buy two new base stations 2.0 from Amazon (~$490 including shipping, effectively ~910 with Q2)
Option 3: Buy valve index kit locally, as it comes with base stations 2.0 (~$1400) and sell quest 2
With the index being shy of 500$ extra (option 2 vs 3), would it be worth it if I'm planning to get base stations and trackers anyway, especially since I don't care too much on wireless? Or should I save the money (option 1, ~710 less than option 3)?
Would appreciate all your thoughts and input on this, thank you!
