I bought a Quest 2 a few months ago. Didn't really use it and haven't been too impressed by it. I tried to play a few games on it and stream it to my friends when I noticed that the stream quality was much better than what I was actually seeing inside the quest.
This is more obvious when connected to my pc and running a game on it. There the resolution and detail is perfect. I tried to play Half Life Alyx and I can barely stand to play it since it's so pixelated inside the headset, but the rendered image on my laptop is perfect.
So my question is: why the games are rendered perfectly on my laptop (i7-10750H + RTX 2060, so half-decent) but they look so bad on my headset? I know it's supposed to be 3840xSomething but it barely seems as a 1000×800. Every video I see on youtube, the image there is rendered perfectly. Do they actually see the image so crisp?
Is this an oculus lens display limitation and it's expected to behave like this? I also tried to tinker with some dev setting, but nothing worked (made it run at a lower fps but barely any quality enhancement).
